BackgroundStichting De Tuin van de Mangoboom is a Dutch foundation founded by Bowinneth Phem and her husband Erik Middelink in 2005. At the time the couple was still based in Cambodia. Stichting De Tuin van de Mangoboom was founded with the purpose to raise funds for the Mango Tree Garden in Cambodia. Since they had returned back to Holland in 2010 to settle down, the Stichting has taken more shape in an organic way.

Who We Are |
Today Stichting De Tuin van de Mangoboom is enriched with individuals who are voluntarily involved and committed to support the Mango Tree Garden in Cambodia:
Chris Regtop: "So far, I have visited the Mango Tree Garden twice. I was very impressed by the enthusiasm and commitment of the team. Every Sunday the team members go to this special place where they help to stimulate the children in their development with so much dedication and passion. With its unique way of working the Mango Tree Garden is an amazing and important addition to the traditional schoolsystem in Cambodia." Temy Phem: "You have to be here to really get the feeling of this place as it continuously brings a smile on your face. The Mango Tree Garden Folks are the most sweetest and friendliest people you will ever meet! My heart is filled with hope and joy just by the simple fact that every Sunday the Mango Tree Garden is up on doing the things they do." Leonie Vaarhorst: "I am seated in the Mango Tree Garden minivan for the second time. I feel my enthusiasm growing as we are heading our way to the Garden. Riding through very bumpy, dusty and busy traffic. It takes almost one hour to get there. We pass by a little bridge, a pagoda and a big mango tree. It is all still there, like a few years ago when I was there for the first time. This is such a wonderful and creative place, set up for the children in the countryside of Cambodia. Once again I am deeply touched. The intensity of joy during play, the dusty and sometimes blistered feet, the worn clothes yet happy children. I am caught by a deep feeling of gratefulness." Bowinneth Phem: "The Mango Tree Garden always reminds me, again and again, how grateful I feel to devote myself to this. The Mango Tree Garden is so alive, still growing and unfolding naturally, in perfect harmony with its surroundings." |
